About This Globe

The National Geographic Fusion Executive globe combines many rare features to create a truly premium desk globe. It is the ultimate combination of a paper globe which is perfectly accurate, and a vinyl ball to allow illumination. The only way this can be achieved is to lay strips of paper map by hand. Very few models have this feature due to high labour costs and skill required to lay the map.

The globe ball itself is 15" (37cm) in diameter making it significantly larger than the standard 12" (30cm) size. The cartography is totally up to date with a political mapping showing each country boundary with over 2000 place names. Once illuminated the cartography comes alive. Somehow the detail of the ocean floors and textures of the mountains stand out more and add to the beauty of the cartography.

National Geographic produces some of the most stunning, vibrant and clear cartography available.

The base and meridian are made of steel and the ball is made of heavy duty vinyl with traditional paper gores overlaid. This globe is illuminated via a cable and looks fantastic in a moderately dark room.
