About This Globe

The Royal 40cm floor globe features a hand-laid map. Strips of paper called gores are precision cut using laser guiding technology before being painstakingly laid onto the acrylic sphere. This is the only way to achieve perfect colour brightness, resolution and clarity as well as accuracy.

Once the map is laid and dried the sphere is taken into a clean room before being hand-lacquered 203 times to create a smooth gloss finish. Every expense has been taken in order to prevent dust or other impurities affecting the maps surface.

The steel base and meridian are lacquered with a gloss gold finish to perfectly compliment the Royal colour scheme of the map.

This Royal desk globe features some of the most beautiful beige/yellow toned mapping ever seen on a globe. Both lit and unlit country boundaries are clearly visible, with ocean currents, shipping routes and extraordinary detail. With the light on, mountains, deserts and forests appear as textures on the surface. The mountains in particular are so detailed that they give a 3D appearance.

All focus of this truly magnificent 40cm diameter globe will be drawn to the globe ball, as the minimalist design of gloss gold-lacquered steel base and meridian helps only to enhance the globe's brilliance.
