The globe is part of the Young Explorer Collection from Zachem globes and features over 1500 place names. It also features images of famous explorers with details and dates of their voyages. The graduated semi-meridian of the animals world globe and matching base are scratch resistant and designed specifically not to be brittle.

This globe is made using traditional techniques. Strips of paper called "gores" are laid onto the surface by hand which is the only way of creating a truly accurate globe.
This globe is made with a UN ratified map in Poland.
