I am making a leather covered globe for a project about the missionary William Carey. He was a shoe maker, and he had a leather map and a leather globe which helped in his thoughts about the world. The globe, once I have covered it in leather, will be used when the ecumenical group who commissioned it talk to local groups about immigration and refugees. I love it - I've wanted a globe for years but not really found one that lit my fire. This one looked quite good on the web and it's even better in real life. I bought this as an Xmas present. Unfortunately there is a gap between 2 of the panels where I think one has been cut too narrow so they do not meet and as a result a number of letters have also been cut off along the west coast of S.America.
