About This Globe
The Columbus Duo globe combines many rare features to create a truly premium desk globe. The globe ball itself is 16" (40cm) in diameter making it the larger size for extra clarity with a more impressive appearance.
The cartography is totally up to date and shows political mapping when the light is off. Physical mapping showing deserts, forests and mountainous regions in great detail appears when the light is switched on. The globe also features several thousand place names that should be large enough for any well sighted person to read.
The base and meridian are made of steel and the ball is made of hand-blown glass. It takes truly incredible skill to create this masterpiece of a product. This globe is illuminated via a cable and looks fantastic in a moderately dark room.
